Today I’m giving away this glove stretcher. It’s specifically made for keeping golf gloves in good shape. I got it from my brother in law, whom I adore and who may be the greatest golf teacher who ever lived (though not to be judged by my game). He is patient, focussed, and can describe anything so clearly that you remember it forever. He can boil down the most complex moves into a few ideas that stick. He gave me this for a birthday some years back, one of a few golf themed birthday presents he’s given me over the years, I think to encourage my continued enthusiasm. I don’t use it. It’s actually quite large and probably more suited to men’s glove sizes, and this is the kind of care and handling that I don’t follow. I have a number of golf gloves and they’re all still in okay shape. I think the trick is to have more than one so you can set one aside for really wet days and only wreck the one glove.
I offered it to my sister, partner of the golf instructor, who is herself an outstanding golfer. She didn’t want it and didn’t want him to have it. Apparently they have a lot of golf stuff already. It’s going to the Goodwill.

I never knew there was such a thing. And I played golf once upon a time. See, I learned something new today
Not mandatory equipment.
I didn’t know you golfed!
Years ago when I was still in Montreal. I was pretty good but took it way too seriously. If I had a bad game I’d spend weeks hitting balls. So I packed it in. But I still love to watch it on TV.
